Participation Requirements

ONG Trades is a whitelist market: admission is default-deny, and every participant is verified before any counterparty sees them. This page sets out who can participate, what the admission process involves, and the expectations every participant agrees to — so that no one's time is wasted on either side.

Who Can Participate

Principals

Traders, refiners, NOCs, airlines, industrial consumers, and storage operators buying or selling physical product for their own account.

Intermediaries

Brokers and intermediaries acting under a mandate from an admitted client. The intermediary and the client are each verified.

Investors & Partners

Prospective investors and integration partners can arrange a structured walkthrough without marketplace admission.

The Admission Process

01

Request access

Submit the entity’s basic details. Access to the application workflow is granted from there — there is no open self-signup into the marketplace.

02

Corporate verification (KYC/KYB)

Company registration and documents are collected and validated, directors and ultimate beneficial owners are identified, and each completes government-ID identity verification.

03

Screening

Automated screening of the entity and its principals against OFAC SDN, EU, UK HMT, UN, and PEP lists — rerun continuously after admission, with human review of every match.

04

Admission decision

A structured review of the complete file. Complete, well-documented submissions move fastest; gaps pause the clock, not the standards.

05

Trade under six layers

Once admitted, every trade clears entity, product, logistics, inspection, financial, and execution verification before settlement.

Documents Required

Having these ready before you apply is the single biggest factor in how quickly a file moves.

What Every Participant Agrees To

These rules exist to protect serious participants' time. They are enforced by the platform, not by convention.

Identity is deal-scoped

The counterparty directory is anonymized. A participant’s identity is revealed only in the context of a bona fide interest in a specific order — never for browsing.

Intermediaries need a bona fide client

Brokers and intermediaries are welcome, but only on behalf of a real client that has itself been admitted to the marketplace. An intermediary cannot see buyer or seller identity without an admitted client and a bona fide interest in the trade. The platform is not a venue for circulating other people’s deals.

Provenance is verified, not asserted

Product documentation, refinery provenance, and allocation chains are verified at Layer 2 before a trade advances. Offers that cannot be documented do not progress.

Settlement on bank rails only

LC, SBLC, and MT103 SWIFT workflows through rated banking institutions. No cryptocurrency, no smart contracts, no alternative settlement schemes.

Screening never stops

Sanctions and PEP screening run continuously after admission, and every trade clears six compliance layers. Admission can be suspended or revoked if a participant’s standing changes.

The participant fee schedule is available to registered applicants inside the platform once an account is created; it is not published on the open web. Contact investors@ongtrades.com with questions before applying.
